Becoming a Moderator


If you're interseted in becoming a Moderator, applications are now OPEN.
Only serious applicants please, while being a Mod is a blast - it's also a very big responsibility and not to be taken lightly.


-> What are the responsibilities & requirements of the Moderators?
  • Be at least 18 years of age with a valid picture ID (for legal purposes)
  • Have a lot of time to devote to the position, including the IRC channel(s) (At least a couple of hours a day)
  • Be helpful, respectful and reasonable - the most important job of a Mod is to help the players!
  • Look after assigned forums by enforcing board rules, helping posters, and closing threads when need be
  • Knowledge of the game and its rules is a must - board AND game rules!
  • Be able to work as a team and receive constructive criticism if necessary

-> Which information should I include in my application?
  • A minimum of 500 words - Applications that do not meet this requirement will be automatically rejected
  • Why you think you'd make a good Moderator and what prompted you to apply in the first place
  • How you can fulfill our requirements and responsibilities
  • Your Ikariam experience, as well as any experience in other communities, including servers you play (or used to play)
  • If you've been banned, what for (boards and ingame both)
  • Some brief information about your RL life, your personality.. anything you find relevant
  • A minimum of 50 posts

  • Go to http://support.ikariam.com
  • Click Contact Support
  • Choose Board from the drop down menu
  • As the subject type Mod Application
  • If you fail to read these instructions, your application will be automatically declined. So please submit it properly. ;)

If you don't have a good understanding of the rules and general forum terms, please do not apply. (You will be quizzed!)
